Art

Reindeer from TLC Art
A santa from TLC Art
For our snack calendar, the kids make
santa handprints. 1/2 of the palm is red, the other 1/2 is skin color
the fingers and tip of thumb are white.
I have also seen penguin hand prints like that too

Math Ideas

Using tree outlines, kids place
themed items on top.
Roll a Snowman
Roll and Count
I have a programmed sheet of construction paper with six squares
labeled 1-6. Kids roll the die and count that many theme erasers
and place them in the correct box. You have to fill each box needs
to be filled to "win." Using mittens, snowmen, ect., label each one
with a number and have the kids place that many counters on top.
I have mine in a file folder
Using my Quick Snips book, I used
several snowflake pictures and glued one to each side and
then the kids roll the cube and shade in the graph
Using those same snowflakes,
I made "rulers" for my kids to use to measure items around
the room
Using an ice cube tray and
theme counters (mini-ornaments, erasers) and a die. Kids
roll the cube and add that many to the tray
Using die cut snowmen and buttons
have kids place correct number of buttons on each snowman
Penguin Count
I have an outline of a penguin for my kids. I also have a programed sheet
for them to use. It has different questions for them to answer.
Using mini erasers, I made up a story.

Poems

A Chubby Little Snowman
A chubby little snowman
Had a carrot nose
Along came a rabbit
And what do you suppose?
That hungry little bunny,
Looking for his lunch,
ATE the snowman's carrot nose...
Nibble, nibble, CRUNCH!

Songs

Little Snowman
(to the tune of "I'm a Little Teapot")
I'm a little snowman round and fat,
Here are my mittens,
Here is my hat.
Add a little scarf and a carrot nose.
You stand so tall when the cold wind blows.

Snowflakes
(to the tune of "twinkle, twinkle little star")
Snowflakes, snowflakes falling down,
On the trees and on the ground.
I will build a man of snow,
Tall black hat and eyes of coal,
If the sun comes out today,
I will watch you melt away!

I'M A LITTLE SNOWMAN
(Tune: "I'm a Little Teapot")
I'm a little snowman,
Short and fat.
Here is my broom
And here is my hat.
When the sun comes out I'll melt away,
But I'll be back Another day!
