I have been gathering these ideas
for quite sometime. I am not sure where the origional ideas
even came from.We haven't done some of these things yet, so when
we do them, I will post the pictures.

Check out my Valentine's Day take home bag.

Math Ideas

Graph a box of candy hearts
Using a cube with several different hearts
Have children guess guess which they will get the most of.
Have them roll 10 times. Shade in the graph each time they
get that. On the bottom of the sheet, have the children
circle which heart they got the most of.
Heart Math Mat
Stamp and Roll - using a grid, a die,
a holiday stamp, and stamp pad. Kids roll the die. They stamp that
many stamps. One stamp per box.
Using an outline of a heart
estimate the number of conversation hearts can fit.
Key to My Heart-using die cut hearts
label each heart with a numeral. Have children place that
number of keys on that heart.
A spin off of a candy corn math mat.
The red is for the dots/stickers, the pink is for the number word, and
the white is for the numeral itself.

ABC ideas

Cut die cuts in half, program 1/2 of the die cut
with the upper case and the other side with the lower case.
Using a large heart and clothes pins
label each clothes pins with heart stickers with the abc's written
on them. Kids put the abc clothes pins around the outside.
Using die cuts, (52 in all)
Program one heart with a letter, on the another heart,
place a small picture. I use Susie Haas' abc chart.
I cut the copy apart and glued that picture on a heart.

Poems

5 Little Hearts
5 Little Hearts, all in a row
The first one said, "I love you so."
The second one said, "Will you be my Valentine?"
The third one said, "I will, if you'll be mine."
The fourth one said, "I'll always be your friend."
The fifth one said, "Until the very end!"

Valentine Snowman
I made a snowman yesterday
So jolly, fat and fine.
I pinned a red heart on his chest
And called him Valentine!

PINK! PINK!
Our favorite color
Is pink - pink - pink.
And we always write letters
With pink-pink ink.
We like our lemonade
To drink-drink-drink,
But especially when
It's a pink-pink drink.
We always use dishes
That are pink-pink-pink.
And wash them all clean
In a pink-pink sink.
If we had some pink paint,
We think-think-think,
We would paint the whole world
In pink-pink-pink!
