Hoppy Holidays!!!!!

During the month of December we do a huge unit on gingerbread. I have at least 4 huge binders on gingerbread. I bought Carol Gossett's unit. Like the beginning of the year, we do a GB hunt. The school staff really get involved. :) I send home a gingerbread outline, and the Family Homework for December is to decorate it.Here is one picture. Kellie did this:

Centers

I really enjoy center time. The kids really seem to develop so well using them. Some of the centers that we use are:
Gingerbread Match: Using die cuts, I labeled 26 GB men and wrote the letters of the alphabet on them and on the back I wrote words that began with that letter.
Using die cuts again, I had the kids match upper and lowercase letters.
This time using GB notepads, I wrote numbers on the GB and the kids put that many little GB erasers.
I also made little GB houses. I have them programed with numbers also.The kids can choose to use GB erasers or snowman.
I bought a GB house and it has masks in it. Truth be told, it was a Hansel and Gretel story. It even had backdrops in it.
