Things are always busy here at the Kinderpond. This year is no different! I have left my old school,
and have been working as a reading teacher. I have been quite busy and that has been keeping me
on my toes.I have been working on several different projects that I will be sharing with you as they happen.

One creation, was my before school reading program. It is entitled "Reading Stars."
Each morning, the children at my school have the opportunity to read each morning before school
begins. They each have a folder - in the folder, they have a sheet where the number of minutes that
they read each time is recorded, and a sticker sheet where they get a sticker for each book they complete
or for the older children, each chapter. There is also a book mark. The children read books in the
morning if they aren't done with the book, the book is left inside their folder until they return.
At the end of each month, the minutes are counted up, and they are distributed
to each teacher- they count as reading minutes in our school.
For participating, they get their name written on a die cut star which is
displayed for everyone to see. They also get a "Star Readers slip to keep.
The top reader, gets to pick out of the treasure box.
The children get a ticket for every 15 minutes they read. There will be a drawing
each month for those children to get a chance to get a prize.

Another venture that I have begun after reading the book Daily 5.
